Gerardo R. Villar, M.P.A.
Mr. Villar is a licensed attorney in Peru and an associate member at Weber Law LLC and Poulton Law Group, PLLC. He brings his vast international experience in working with the Hispanic community in the area of immigration law, taxes, real state, contracts and consulting. Prior to joining Weber Law, he was a shareholder at Villar Abogados, in Peru, where he served as the section head for the firm’s Real Estate Section. Before that, he worked as “Legal Assistant” in the Office of General Counsel of the LDS Church. In this capacity, Mr. Villar directly assisted to the International Legal Counsel in the supervision and coordination of all legal matters affecting the LDS Church in the following countries: Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela. He assumed primary responsibility for supervising the legal aspects of the LDS Church’s acquisitions of real estate in all of these countries. Mr. Villar has also assisted in addressing the legal aspects of certain labor, tax, and other issues affecting the LDS Church in these aforementioned countries. In Utah, Mr. Villar works only as a paralegal. Mr. Villar obtained his certified commercial accountant credential from Miguel Grau, Commercial Institute in 1985, his Bachelor of Law and Political Science degree and Master in Civil and Commercial Law degree from San Martin of Porres University, Lima, Peru in 1998 and 2000 respectively. Mr. Villar also has obtained a Master of Management Public Administration from Brigham Young University in 2005. Mr. Villar speaks Spanish and English. He lives in Utah.
